Your goal is to acquire as many objectives as possible in the limited time you are given (only 48 turns!).

IMPORTANT: IF YOU DESTROY THE FRENCH, YOU CAN STILL CONTINUE TO PLAY, BUT YOU SHOULD CONSIDER THE GAME LOST, AND YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO COUNT YOUR OBJECTIVES ANYMORE.

You can also calculate the amount of objectives you won in the excel sheet called objectives.xls in your RiverWar directory.

Once you have finished the scenario after 48 turns, count the objectives you have acquired, and compare that number to this list to see how well you have done. The maximum number of objectives you could reach is 52 and you start the game with 13 objectives.

  • less than 15 objectives: you have failed hopelessly. You probably did not even capture Merowe!

  • 15-24 objectives: you have failed your mission, and probably only captured cities as far as Berber.

  • 25-34 objectives: You probably came as far as Khartoum, but did not do anymore than that. Although your mission must be counted as a success, you will never become a more than average General.

  • 35-44 objectives: You have done fairly well. Your control is firm throughout the Sudan, though many cities, some important, still challenge British authority.

  • 45 objectives or more: You have done excellently! You have captured all the cities next to the Nile, and much more. All of the Sudan is now yours.

NOTE: If Kitchener, your Sirdar unit, is killed, you will have to go down one group in this system. If you have a Decessive Victory (>= 36 obj.), you will have to accept a Marginal Victory (28-35 objectives) only. Though of course Civilization will not check this for you, it must be considered a "House Rule" (no matter how I hate that word).
